Fox News headline vs. Real Headline of the day.

I don’t usually contribute my personal opinion to posts on RFN, but explode? Fox, you take a perfectly acceptable headline on an article about Muslim Americans and change the word “grows” to “explode?” EXPLODE? What kind of fucked up xenophobic, Islamaphobic, word association bullshit is that? This should be removed from the Fox Nation site immediately.

Amid abortion debate, Komen cancer charity halting grants to Planned Parenthood

The nation’s leading breast-cancer charity, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, is halting its partnerships with Planned Parenthood affiliates — creating a bitter rift, linked to the abortion debate, between two iconic organizations that have assisted millions of women.

The change will mean a cutoff of hundreds of thousands of dollars in grants, mainly for breast exams.

Planned Parenthood says the move results from Komen bowing to pressure from anti-abortion activists. Komen says the key reason is that Planned Parenthood is under investigation in Congress — a probe launched by a conservative Republican who was urged to act by anti-abortion groups.

The rupture, which has not been publicly announced as it unfolded, is wrenching for some of those who’ve learned about it and admire both organizations.

“We’re kind of reeling,” said Patrick Hurd, who is CEO of Planned Parenthood of Southeastern Virginia — recipient of a 2010 grant from Komen — and whose wife, Betsi, is a veteran of several Komen fundraising races and is currently battling breast cancer.

“It sounds almost trite, going through this with Betsi, but cancer doesn’t care if you’re pro-choice, anti-choice, progressive, conservative,” Hurd said. “Victims of cancer could care less about people’s politics.”

WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS COUNTRY.

"If you’re a commentator and an analyst — and I’m a commentator and analyst — say you’re a commentator and analyst. If you’re an activist, say you’re an activist. But to pretend that you’re a newsperson, to pretend that you’re giving a fair and balanced view of things — when, in fact, you have no credentials to do that and your only history is to engage in activism, is to engage in politics, is to engage in propaganda — then that’s an unfair portrayal of the news to the American people."

Fox News host Peter Johnson Jr, on unfair biases in news activism and reporting.

Republicans don’t trust anyone…except Fox News, according to Public Policy Polling’s TV news trust poll.  On the other hand, Democrats and Independents tend not to trust Fox, but they do trust every other network.  Read more here.

It’s funny that after Fox News they trust PBS the most and yet, they want to defund the crap out of them.

Why What Herman Cain, Newt Gingrich and Others Do in the Bedroom Is None of Your Business | Fox News

An astoundingly ironic article from Fox News’ resident psychiatrist bigoted homophobe and non-heterosexual bedroom-policer, Dr. Keith Ablow. From the article,

The sexual histories of political candidates and elected officials have no place in politics because they can distract us from supporting those men and women with the skills to reduce the nation’s debt, create jobs and defeat our enemies….

I have treated miraculously talented, married surgeons and researchers who save lives every day, then meet up with escorts by night. Personally, I wouldn’t hazard going under the knife with a less talented fellow who is a paragon of virtue, sexually.”

Dr. Ablow would, however, stop your children from watching Chaz Bono on television because they might get the idea that being transgender is acceptable, or warn you against shopping at J. Crew, lest your son learn to paint his toenails. But don’t worry, he has no problem praising heterosexual infidelity and serial adulterers. Let’s face it, he just wants you to focus on the fact that they are Republican, male and heterosexual people too.

The consistency of our product. I think we do better television than the other guys, and no matter how we do it, they don’t seem to catch up. We seem to out-invent them and think ahead of them, and have better story ideas, better graphics, better on-air talent. We just are better television producers.

— Roger Ailes, president of Fox News, on why Fox News has survived for so long with high ratings.

It has been a rough week for Fox News’ graphics department (by week we mean the last three days), especially geographically. It really is no surprise that seven studies have found Fox News viewers to be the most misinformed. I’ve always wanted to visit Utah Nevada and Vermont New Hampshire!
